Another concern researchers and scientists have is that biofuels will threaten our food security, which will exacerbate hunger worldwide. The large scale use of biofuels will ultimately drive farmers to produce more crops for fuel, rather than food. Our society cannot permit people to starve in order to fuel our vehicles. As of the year 2003, there was an estimated 824 million people in the developing world afflicted with chronic hunger (Gidley). This number is anticipated to expeditiously rise if biofuels continue to be looked as a commendable alternative fuel. This time, not only is biofuels harming our environment and habitats of numerous species, but also us, the human population.
Hope this helps.
Another concern researchers and scientists have is that the expanded use of bio-fuels will threaten our food security, which will exacerbate (simplify, consider increase) hunger worldwide. The large scale use of bio-fuels will ultimately drive farmers to produce more crops for fuel, rather than (for) food. Our society cannot permit people to starve in order to fuel our vehicles. As of the year 2003, there was (were) an estimated 824 million people in the developing world afflicted with chronic hunger (Gidley). This number is anticipated to expeditiously (exponentially) rise if bio-fuels continue to be looked (considered) as a commendable (recommended) alternative fuel. (At) this time, not only is (are) bio-fuels harming our environment and (the) habitats of numerous species, but also us, the human population.
(but the human population also)
